Iana Princess McCrary, whose life illuminated the world with her kind spirit and creative flair, was born into love and light on October 26, 2007, in Cleveland, Ohio, and continued to spread that same love and light until her departure on April 1, 2024, in the same city that witnessed her first breath. Iana's journey on this earth may have been a constellation of moments just shy of seventeen years, but her impact will be felt eternally, an inspiring testament to a life lived with purpose and passion. As the cherished daughter of Leih Whalen and Franklin McCrary, and adored stepdaughter to Bryant Thompson, Iana's foundational years were a canvas of familial love and support. Her brothers, Ty'rez D. Debose and Ke'Andre McCrary, alongside her grandmothers, Kyni Whalen and Christine McCrary-Brown, and the guiding light of her late great-grandmother Shirley A. McCrary, were the brushstrokes that helped paint her character – vibrant, fearless, and full of promise. The McCrary lineage, including her Aunt Erica, Aunt Alyvia, Great-Aunt Gwendolyn McCrary-Williams, and Uncle Ladon McCrary, stood as a testament to the strong familial ties that Iana embodied. Her unborn son, Ion, will inherit a legacy of his mother's indomitable spirit and unyielding love. Iana's educational journey saw her blossom from the curious corridors of Brightside Academy and Almira Elementary School to the empowered halls of Anton Grdina and John F. Kennedy High School, with a recent chapter at Randall Park High School. Education was more than books and tests for Iana; it was a dance of discovery, a place where her dreams were nurtured and her aspirations encouraged. Her professional life, though brief, was marked by an exceptional work ethic and responsibility. Iana's involvement in the Y.O.U Summer Job program and her role at Rocket Mortgage Field House showed a young woman who was not only on time but ahead of her time – a trailblazer who approached each task with the dedication and zeal of someone destined for greatness. Iana's interests were the colors of her vibrant soul. A fashionista at heart, Iana reveled in the art of hair and lashes, shopping online with an eye for style that could rival any designer. She was an animal lover, a culinary enthusiast who found joy in cooking for her loved ones, and a teen with the meticulousness of a seasoned interior designer. Her room was her sanctuary, a space she continually transformed into a reflection of her evolving vision and creativity. To describe Iana as friendly, creative, and kind is to capture the essence of a soul who walked among us as a beacon of warmth and innovation. She was the friend who lit up the room with her smile, the creative mind that saw beauty in the mundane, and the kind heart that sought to make the world a more wondrous place. Iana's ambitions as an interior designer were not mere career goals; they were a metaphor for her life's work – to design a world that was as beautiful and considerate as she was. Let us take a leaf from Iana's book of life and strive to be the architects of our destiny, as she was of hers. As we remember Iana Princess McCrary, let's honor her memory by living with intention, loving with openness, and creating with joy. In this way, the beautiful life she led will continue to inspire and guide us, as we each become a thread in the magnificent tapestry that she began weaving from the moment she arrived in this world. And so, as we bid farewell to Iana, let us not say goodbye, but rather choose to embrace the enduring spirit she has imbued within each of us. For in our hearts and our actions, Iana's legacy will continue to thrive, a symphony of creativity, kindness, and boundless love that will echo through generations. Fly high, dear Iana, for you have taught us the true meaning of living a life that is not measured in years, but in the beauty of its contributions to the world
